Fitted with a red LED, a pair of these switches can be used to test students' reaction times. One switch can also be used for manual marking of events during datalogging activities.

Introducing learners to the idea of the computer acting as a stopwatch e.g. starting and stopping timing.
Introducing the fact that speed can be calculated directly if the distance between the start and finish line is used.
